The Bike Guards speak enough English for any of you unsure about your Bahasa Indonesian. You will be in excellent hands with BMB Bike Guards:
Ade Erwin is a Bogor native. He is an up-and-coming professional photographer and will gladly take your photos along the trail for those of you bringing along your digital cameras for hot face book postings.
Dadan Supriantna “Abenk” is a tall gentle guy who is an amazing BMX biker and bike mechanic. Abenk also grew up biking around Bogor countryside and is quite experienced in mountain biking around various areas of West and Central Java.
Wahyu Nurhaji, a Central Java native, works as an IT wiz and mountain biking seems to come second nature to him from spending his childhood in the village and biking through forests and farmland.
Doreen, an American, is a die hard promoter of mountain biking and especially loves to see more women involved in the sport. Doreen rides regularly, often being the sole female among the predominately male mountain biking communities.
Bugi Permana is a local Bogor guy, “serious” cross – country runner, and an elementary school Physical Education teacher. He is the newest bike guard to BMB and one of the most fit!
Juheri (Hery) is Bogor Mountain Biker’s mechanic and bike guard. Hery always has a new twist to back roads and cross country adventures out and around Bogor. Hery is also a local Bogor guy and spends his free time exploring the countryside. Hery is the best guard for a full moon night ride adventure!
Bogor Mountain Biking has benefited from a Bike Touring /Mountain Biking/Mechanic Consultant, Paul Mulley, from Brighton, England. Paul has mentored our team in bike maintenance, long distance touring, and bike safety classes for school aged children. Paul is an experienced bike mechanic and has done solo touring in several countries. He is a crazy off road mountain biker like you have never seen, and he recently completed a three week tour in Flores Island, Indonesia. One of his feats was biking 12 km – 1,639 m (5,377 ft) to the top of Mt Kelimutu, Ende, Flores in only 65 min just in time to catch the sun rise over the 3-colored crater lakes.
